IAE Rules and Regulations


  1. If you are reminded more than once to clean up after yourself, you have to pay E25 as a fine. 
  2. If you open up hardware for any reason without the approval of the technology officer, you face a disciplinary hearing. 
  3. A member who misses 2 monthly meetings in a row (having missed more than 50% of Monday meetings) is put on a month of probation. If the member still does not contribute to the IAE mission through the Monthly Board Meetings, then the member is deregistered from the association as an active member. 
  4. A member who misses 3 Monthly Board Meetings in a row (having attended 80% or more of the Monday meetings) is put on a month of probation. If the member still does not contribute to the IAE mission through monthly meetings, then the member is deregistered from the association as an active member.
  5. A member who steals is deregistered from the association. 
  6. A strike system is implemented to control discretionary offensesoffences:
    1. A member who is witnessed littering is fined E5. If a member fails to pay these fines within 14 days, the member is given 1 strike. 
    2. A member who is reported for wilfully interfering with another’s work earns 1 strike.
    3. A member who is reported for breaking house rules earns 1 strike. 
    4. A member who attains 3 strikes is put on probation. 
    5. Strikes renew every year, from January 1st. 
  7. Members and their guests should only smoke in the one designated area in The Hub premises before 5 pm. They may smoke within the premises after 5 pm if there are no people in The Hub who have a negative health response to smoking. 
  8. Members who work together on a pro-bono/plutonismputonism basis are required to fill in the IAE Member Collaboration Agreement.
  9. Members are required not to move each other’s personal workspaces without consulting with that member or the administrator of the Hub (the IAE Vice Chairperson).
  10. Members and their guests are required to sign in electronically. 
  11. All members are required to respect the first come first serve basis of access to workstations at the Innovation Hub. 
  12. Members are required to check out equipment using the google calendar for each resource: video camera & projector & Raspberry Pi 1 & android device 1., . If a member does not comply with the equipment access system 2 times, they are not allowed to check out equipment for 60 days.
  13. Each member is required to pay their annual subscription fee of E300, through monthly instalments or once-off. Any member who fails to pay the annual subscription fees before or on the date of the Annual General meeting membership shall be suspended for three months and if payment is paid during that period shall automatically be reinstated. After that period, membership is lost. The ex-member may be readmittedre-admitted to the membership at the discretion of the Executive Board, and after all payments owed to the Innovators Association of Eswatini have been paid. A member is given 30 days to make a delayed payment if they default on the subscription before they are suspended.
  14. Termination of membership may result when the terms and conditions laid out in the constitution and operational framework amalgamated here in this list of IAE Rules and Regulations.
